Happy New Year to my subscribers, free and paid! Your continued support is appreciated. Apologies for the long absence in December, I resolve to post more regularly than I have.
Departing NYC in September was difficult but I'm still not missing it. I truly miss living and thriving in New York (before 2020). I wasn't considering leaving in 2019. I don't miss what it became and how divisive and thoughtlessly compliant people were in the hysteria.
The final straw was being restricted from entering restaurants (and venues for work as a seasoned event photographer) for a personal medical decision in the face of immense peer, employer, and government pressure. After that, I never saw it the same, and I did not feel safe.
Signs kept hammering home messaging, dissent, and fear. In the form of government propaganda, advertisements, billboards, restricted entry notices, graffiti, and hand-drawn pleas. I collected as many as I could. Here are some selects.
Always appreciate your photos.
Glad you have landed in a good place.
Cheers,
Cairn
